One of my concerns related to our team is that we do not have a member who has UI professional experience. However, all this was an excellent chance to test some ideas.Â
This week we did several rounds of play testing, and here are the results of this experience, among many other things!
As far as working with freelancers is concerned, I have had nothing but super positive experiences. Juicy details inside!
Although the topics I have to deal with this time correspond to the readings of a couple of weeks ago (crunching hours, freelance working and collaborations), as they are closely linked I have decided to put them together in this post.
As the leader of this project, I am delighted to have had the opportunity not only to have worked with three excellent and talented professionals but also with admirable people, 100% committed to their responsibilities and those of the team. Adios amigos!

Hello and welcome to  PLog – Patricio Land’s Blog!
My early adolescence was strongly marked by the boom of personal computers, the strength of this new technological wave knew how to bring a light of hope and new possibilities of expression for young people…
This first week was crazy and quite exciting. I have formally resumed my studies not only after a long period without such academic demands. This is all because of the daily use of spanish at home with my family and children, french in my daily work life (I live in the French-speaking side of Switzerland). I have to dust off this form of writing, since I normally use the more colloquial English for my interactions with my colleagues in other parts of Europe and the world.
This second week the theme is creativity, a concept that in my opinion is strongly intertwined with other concepts such as imagination, the creation of ideas, and of course innovation. Personally, and especially during my youth I would never have considered that creativity could be the result of an analytical, measurable, repeatable and evaluable process.
This week begins with one of the most interesting topics, and by taking an idea or concept that may still be in a rather abstract state, and begin experimenting  with different prototyping methods to accomplish through a rapid ideation session!
The past week was full of anxiety. During the last Wednesday live session a new task was revealed. This will keep us busy over the next two weeks. It is my intention to get out of my comfort zone and carry out the development using not only an engine that I have abandoned for years,  Unity, but also using an add on that in theory should allow me to do the whole job without having to write a single line of code, which doubles the bet!.
Without a systematic approach, creating a video game, an application or even this blog itself,  can become somewhat chaotic. That’s why it is highly important to count on basic tools to channel thoughts and ideas in order to  carry them out keeping in mind that reflective practice is mostly learning while doing.
This week will be an excellent opportunity to catch up on reading. I’m a kind of person with a range of interests, these go from scale model construction to video games, guitar playing, history of cinema, cartoon animation, you name it!. So my bunch of books and magazines go up and up no matter what…
